Makeup

It's itchy. It's cakey. It's unnatural. It's a hassle. It's too complicated.

And ofcourse, like everything else, it contains gluten.

These are just a few of the reasons why makeup has remained a reliable nemesis throughout my teenage years. It simply was never worth it.

When realizing half of my microscopic makeup collection contained gluten, I was not overwhelmed by disappointment, and quickly relocated it to my mother's bathroom. Later on that week, whilst searching the internet for gluten free deodorant, I came across an extremely helpful website- www.naturallydahling.com. She lists all sorts of fantastic natural, gluten free, chemical free products, including a section on cosmetics.

Yes, I know. Me and makeup have never quite gotten along. But, somehow I convinced myself to just try a gluten free, chemical free, all natural, hypoallergenic makeup called Afterglow

And I love it.

The first night I threw myself a slumber party and gave myself a makeover. It is so light, yet its durable enough to stay on all day without smudging. There's no itchiness, or caking and it comes off easily with soap and water. The ingredients contain fruit extracts from grapes, pomegranates, and grapefruit. I very much enjoy refraining from applying chemicals to my face.

So, no, I do not wear makeup daily, but I do wear it frequently now. Sometimes I even enjoy putting on my make up in the morning. As 12 year old-ish as this sounds, I like playing with the different colors.

And I can't wait to try more.
